Welcome to Herndon Optimist Youth Football (HOYF)! We are one of the sports sponsored by the Herndon Optimist Club and operate under the umbrella of the Fairfax County Youth Football League (FCYFL). Our goal is to provide boys and girls, ages 7-16, of Northern Virginia an opportunity to play American-style full-contact tackle football and learn sportsmanship, teamwork, and responsibility while having fun!
Come join us for our free football skills camps the weeks of June 14th and July 26th (please see the Events Calendar for more information on the camps). They are a great way for kids new to the sport to try it out and for our returning players to refresh their skills before Fall 2010 season practice starts August 9th and games start in mid-September.
Registration for the Fall 2010 season opened May 1st. Registration fees are $150 plus a $50 equipment deposit refunded when equipment is returned. Scholarships are available for residents of Fairfax County receiving federal or state assistance. Late registration fee of $25 starts on August 15th.
